Registered Nurse

Location

Martinsburg, West Virginia

Contract

13 weeks
12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Day shift

Unit Overview

Telemetry/PCU unit with two floors and mixed telemetry acuity; one floor is planned to transition to stepdown-level acuity.

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Must be able to provide an unexpired driver’s license at submission
  • Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
  • COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemption process available
  • Any background hits must be disclosed at time of submission

Experience

  • First-time travelers are accepted

Schedule

  • Every other weekend
  • Holidays may be required based on unit needs
  • Rare floating to ICU overflow telemetry or Ortho/MedSurg

Clinical Details

  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 on days and nights
  • Common patient types include elevated troponin, pre/post cath, post-STEMI, NSTEMI, pacers, and some post-surgical or oncology patients
  • Drips used include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, Integrilin, nitro, and set-rate drips
  • Vent support includes BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow, managed by respiratory therapy

Additional Notes

  • EPIC is used for charting
  • Navy blue scrubs are required
  • Hair must be a natural color, and distasteful tattoos must be covered
