  • BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • 1 year of experience
  • 1 prior travel assignment
  • Must be within a 75-mile radius

Unit Details

  • 22-bed observation unit
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
  • Charge nurse may take patients occasionally
  • Heavy telemetry unit with central monitoring
  • No ventilators on the unit
  • Heparin is the only common titratable drip
  • RN performs EKGs and draws labs

Scheduling

  • Every other weekend
  • Holidays rotate with permanent staff
  • No call requirement
  • 3-shift unit orientation

Floating

  • Float to med-surg

Additional Notes

  • Fast-paced unit with high turnover
  • Discharges and admissions are common
  • Up to 16 discharges per day and refill on the unit
