RN - Rapid Response
Job Overview
- Specialty: RN
- Employment type: Travel
- Location: Charleston, South Carolina
- Contract length: 6 weeks
- Hours per week: 48
- Shift schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- 3 years of Critical Care Float experience
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to manage patients on the ventilator
- CRRT experience
- Advanced hemodynamics experience
- Phlebotomy experience
- Experience administering breathing treatments (inhalers and nebulizers)
- Experience with post-operative day 0 CABG patients
- Experience with Impella devices
- Experience with balloon pumps
- Experience with Swan Ganz catheters
- Experience with EVDs (external ventricular drains)
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- Advanced certifications
- TNCC certification
Unit Experience
- ICU setting with mixed ICU patients and inpatient PCU/med-surg holds
- Experience with CRRT
- Advanced hemodynamics
- Phlebotomy
- Respiratory treatments such as inhalers and nebulizers
- Post-op CABG care
- Impella and balloon pump management
- Swan Ganz monitoring
- Neuro ICU procedures including EVDs, bolts, Codman, and induced hypothermia with Artic Sun
- Experience with head and neck flap procedures is trainable
Work Environment
- Bedside shift report used for handoff
- Travelers are first to float and may be sent to the emergency department or PCU
- Navy uniform required
