RN - Rapid Response
Overview
- Specialty: RN
- Employment type: Travel
- Location: Charleston, South Carolina
- Contract length: 6 weeks
- Hours per week: 48
- Shift pattern: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- 1 year of Critical Care Float experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to manage patients on the ventilator
- CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
- Advanced hemodynamics experience
- Phlebotomy skills
- Experience administering breathing treatments (inhalers and nebulizers)
- Experience with EVDs (External Ventricular Drains)
- Experience with bolts for neuro procedures
- Artic Sun experience with induced hypothermia
- Experience with post-operative day 0 CABG patients
- Experience with Impella devices
Key Clinical Experience
- Ability to care for 1–3 ICU patients
- Comfort managing ventilated patients
- Proficiency in reading telemetry strips
- Prior CVICU experience
- Experience with CRRT
- Experience with advanced hemodynamics
- Phlebotomy experience
- Experience with bedside shift report
- Experience with post-op day 0 CABG patients, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts, Codman, and induced hypothermia
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Advanced certifications preferred
- TNCC certification preferred
Work Environment
- 28-bed mixed ICU
- Travelers are first to float and may be sent to the emergency department or PCU for PCU or ICU holds
- Navy uniform required
Additional Notes
- Travelers with interest in Neuro ICU or Cardiovascular ICU may be trained
- Training is also available for head and neck flap procedures
