RN - Cancer Care

Overview

  • Travel registered nurse role in Reno, Nevada
  • 13-week contract
  • Night shift, 3x12 schedule
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • No call required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Nevada
  • Oncology (1 year of experience)
  • Oncology experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification

Unit / Patient Population

  • Oncology/cancer unit
  • Cares for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Mix of oncology and medical-surgical patients
  • Common admissions include chemotherapy and complications related to disease process

Schedule / Assignment Expectations

  • May be required to float within competency
  • One additional shift required during the schedule period
  • Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Clinical Notes

  • Remote telemetry monitoring capability on the unit
  • Tele testing and ACLS are not required
  • Additional bloodwork required: CMP, CBC with differential, TSH, hepatic panel, and creatinine
