Description
Surgical Technologist
Location
Paducah, Kentucky
Contract Length
17 weeks
Schedule
- 8 hours per day
- 40 hours per week
- Call is every other weekend and every other day
Role Summary
Serves as a primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Surgical Technologist (7 years of experience)
- Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS
- CST
- Technical Diploma from a Surgical Technologist program or comparable military training
- CVOR Technologist experience
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub into cases and prepare instruments and supplies
- Maintain the sterile field during case setup and throughout surgical cases
- Pass instruments, assist the physician as needed, and support draping and patient positioning
- Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
- Complete post-case cleaning, instrument decontamination, and transport/return of instruments to Central Sterile
- Ensure the surgical suite is disinfected, stocked, and ready for the next procedure
- Complete mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements
