ER Registered Nurse

Location

• Renton, Washington

Schedule

• Evening and night shifts
• 12-hour shifts
• 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Variable report times, with most commonly 1500 and 1900

Contract Length

• 16 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Active RN experience in the emergency department
• 2+ years of ER experience
• 1+ year of trauma experience
• Prior travel experience
• ACLS
• BLS
• ENPC
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC
• Epic experience
• No license hits involving diverting medications or endangerment

Unit Details

• 55-bed emergency department with 4 trauma bays and 8–12 swing beds
• Separate triage area
• Fast track area
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms
• 24/7 monitor tech support
• In-house security
• Approximate patient volume: 250 per day
• Typical ratios:

  • 4:1 in main ED
  • 5:1 in accelerated care
  • 2:1 in critical care

• STEMI
• Stroke
• DKA
• Sepsis
• Trauma
• Respiratory diseases
• Behavioral health

Responsibilities

• Transport critical patients
• Draw ABGs
• Set up small-dose breathing treatments
• Perform ECGs
• May do triage after additional orientation and competency testing

Orientation

• First day with ED leadership and badging
• 2–3 bedside orientation shifts

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs for nursing
