Step Down RN Travel Contract

Overview

• Location: Portland, Oregon
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Float: May float between units and to other facilities as needed
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Block scheduling: Not required
• Ratios: 1:3 and 1:4

Role Focus

• This role is for IMCU/Step Down RNs, not telemetry-only RNs.
• Experience caring for higher-acuity patients is expected, including:

  • Trach and ventilator patients
  • Critical care drips/titrated infusions
  • Intermediate care/step-down level patients
  • Complex cardiac and respiratory patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oregon
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Experience caring for tracheostomy and ventilator patients
• Experience with critical care drips and titrated infusions
• Experience caring for complex cardiac patients
• Experience caring for complex respiratory patients

Additional Notes

• Travelers may be asked to float to other units based on skill set.
• If floating consecutive shifts, a hotel may be offered.
• Parking is free.
• Epic is used for charting.
