Description

Registered Nurse

Location

  • Bloomington, Illinois

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • Skilled in labor and delivery

Unit Details

  • Alternate Birthing Center / LDRP
  • 12 LDRP rooms
  • 2 triage rooms
  • About 700 deliveries per year
  • Patient population includes labor, postpartum, and level II nursery newborns
  • Charge RN works each shift without a patient assignment
  • OB techs and unit secretaries support the unit
  • Neonatology provider is in house 24/7
  • CPAP is used for the level II nursery with RT assistance for setup
  • Obix EFM system with Phillips monitors is used for fetal monitoring

Schedule

  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday
  • No call or standby requirement

Responsibilities

  • Float hospital-wide as needed for tasking and team nursing model

Additional Information

  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • 2–3 shifts of unit orientation, depending on the traveler
  • Negative drug screen required for all panels
  • Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a local rate adjustment
  • 12 non-billable orientation hours
  • Call-off policy allows 12 hours every 13 weeks without penalty
