Certified Surgical Technologist — Orthopedic Operating Room

Job Overview

  • Travel assignment in Portland, Maine
  • Specialty operating room role focused on orthopedic surgery
  • 13-week contract
  • 48 hours per week
  • 10- or 12-hour shifts
  • Weekend and extended shift availability required

Required Qualifications

  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification in good standing
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Experience with multiple vendor orthopedic systems including Stryker, DePuy, Smith & Nephew, and Zimmer
  • Experience with Mako robotic-assisted surgery
  • Experience with Hana table positioning
  • Experience with complex total joint revision procedures
  • Experience with orthopedic trauma procedures

Work Environment

  • High-volume orthopedic operating room
  • Five orthopedic ORs
  • Fast-paced, high-acuity setting
  • Team-oriented surgical environment

Key Clinical Experience

  • First scrub complex total joint revision cases
  • First assist on polytrauma orthopedic cases with minimal supervision
  • Work with multi-vendor systems and orthopedic instrumentation

Schedule and Call

  • Day, evening, and night shift options are listed
  • One overnight trauma call may be required
  • Weekend call is scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Additional Notes

  • Teal scrubs are issued by the hospital
