Required Qualifications

• Must be able to titrate drips in stepdown and manage heparin infusions on the floor
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips

Unit Details

• Unit type: Stepdown and floor
• Bed count: 31 beds total
• Patient ratios: 1:3 for stepdown; 1:5–6 for floor
• Common patient types: MedSurg, cardiac, IDDM, COPD, trauma, ortho, ENT, urology, pain
• Telemetry: Yes
• Respiratory support: No vents on the unit
• Support staff: Charge nurse on each shift, house supervisor in-house 24/7, telemetry techs, nurse aides

Schedule

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: May be expected to work holidays if needed

• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• A current driver’s license copy must be included with submission
• Previous permanent employees must have been gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must have been gone for 2 years
• Only 1 position may be submitted to at a time across the WVU system
• Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email
• Up to 2 candidates per opening may be submitted
