ER Registered Nurse
Location
- Kankakee, Illinois
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Shift
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Multiple start times available
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- 2 years of recent experience in the specialty
- Travel experience required
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC, unless waived for strong ER experience
- EPIC experience required
Schedule Requirements
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
Unit Details
- 35-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays
- Fast Track area with 8 beds
- Separate triage area; travelers may perform triage using the ESI triage algorithm
- Separate psych/seclusion rooms
- Average daily volume: 111 patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Common cases include trauma, strokes, STEMI, mental health, pediatric respiratory illness, fractures, and gunshot wounds
- All critical care drips are used
- Nurses monitor and read telemetry strips
- X-ray/CT is next door
- No call
- No floating
