Neuro ICU RN
Job Overview
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
- Hours: 36 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Start requirements: EKG testing must be passed before start
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Neuro ICU (2 years of experience)
- Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- Continuous IV sedation management
- CVA/Acute stroke management
- External ventricular drain (EVD) management
- ICP monitoring
- Post-neurosurgery patient management
- Lumbar drain experience

Unit Details
- Stroke-focused neuro critical care unit
- Typical patient ratio: 2:1, with possible flex to 3:1 during high census
- Average daily census: 11–12
- Floating is required
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirement
- 24-hour orientation
- Scrubs: navy blue and white

- Craniotomies
- Carotid stents and carotid endarterectomies
- Aneurysm coiling/clipping
- Seizures
