Neuro ICU RN

Job Overview

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
Hours: 36 per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
Start requirements: EKG testing must be passed before start

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Neuro ICU (2 years of experience)
Neuro ICU experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Blood product administration
Central line care and management
Continuous IV sedation management
CVA/Acute stroke management
External ventricular drain (EVD) management
ICP monitoring
Post-neurosurgery patient management
Lumbar drain experience

Required Skills

Typical patient ratio: 2:1, with possible flex to 3:1 during high census
Average daily census: 11–12
Floating is required
Every other weekend required
No call requirement
24-hour orientation

Craniotomies
