Job Overview

Registered Nurse
2 years of PICU experience
BLS certification
PALS certification
COVID-19 vaccination required

Schedule and Assignment Details

Self-scheduling is used, with possible block scheduling if unit needs are met
Weekend requirement: 2 weekends in a 4-week schedule
Holiday coverage is required if needed
No call requirement
Floating may include pediatric, L&D, NICU, and acute pediatrics units
Travelers should be comfortable caring for adult patients if needed

Unit Notes

PICU with 20 total beds
Typical patient ratios: 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:3 in stepdown
Common patient types include congenital heart, DKA, respiratory, neurosurgery, tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube cases
Drips may include sedation and vasoactive medications
Respiratory support includes vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
Telemetry is monitored off unit
In-house pediatric coverage is available 24/7
