Location

Contract Length

• 18 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff

Unit Details

• Progressive care unit with 28 beds
• Typical patient population includes adults from the ER, mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Charge nurse is present on each shift and may occasionally take patients
• Nursing assistants/patient care techs are available at a ratio of 1:14
• No unit secretary on the unit
• High-volume unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be within 50 miles of the facility
• Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity

Orientation

• First week is classroom orientation, followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts

Floating

• May float to Med/Surg and other areas of the hospital, including ICU and ED when appropriate

Additional Notes

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
• RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Candidates must pass an open-book orientation exam with a score of 90% or higher
