Cath Lab RN

Job Overview

  • Location: Charleston, West Virginia
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day, 4x10 hours (6:30 AM–5:00 PM)
  • On-call: Yes
  • Weekend coverage: Call only
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Setting

  • Cath Lab role in a short-term acute care hospital
  • Level IV trauma center and major teaching hospital
  • Daily caseload: 8–10 cases per tech
  • Floating is not expected; may float within scope if needed

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in West Virginia
  • Cardiac Cath Lab (2 years of experience)
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • Must be competent in all aspects of Cath Lab diagnostic and intervention care, including structural cases
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • ACT
  • AVOX
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Social Security card
  • 1 reference from a manager, supervisor, or charge nurse from a facility worked within the past year

Additional Requirements

  • 30-minute on-call response time
  • Must live within 100 miles of the facility; 75–99 miles may be considered for approval
  • No first-time travelers
  • Background check required
  • Drug screen required
  • Color blind testing required
  • Physical exam required
  • Fit testing required
  • Tdap vaccination required
  • TB clearance required
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity or vaccination required
  • Hepatitis B documentation required
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof or signed declination accepted
