RN Medical/Surgical
Overview
- Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Shift: 18:30 - 07:00
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Employment type: LTA
Role Summary
- Provides direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans, communicates patient condition, coordinates with the care team, carries out physician and nursing orders, and supports discharge planning.
Schedule Expectations
- Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period.
- Holiday coverage is based on department needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Med Surg (2 years of experience).
- Med Surg experience within the last year.
- Stroke experience.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association.
- Driver's License.
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- At least two professional references.
- Resume or profile.
- Driver’s license or state ID that is not expired and matches the address on file.
Required Onboarding / Compliance
- BLS certification must be AHA.
- Pharmacology exam and Medical Surgical exam must be completed before start and updated every 3 years; minimum score 80% and only 2 attempts allowed.
- Core competencies must be completed within 1 year of start, updated every 3 years, with a minimum score of 80% or the national benchmark passing score.
- Skills checklist must be completed within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Education verification is required within 90 days of start.
- Employment verification for the past 7 years is required.
- Criminal background check, EPLS, and assignment confirmation are required.
- Drug screen, fit test, health statement, MMR, varicella, Tdap, hepatitis B documentation, and color vision documentation are required.
- Badge photo and onboarding education attestation are required.
- Cerner test-out and nursing contract worker onboarding are required.
- Signed assignment agreement is required before onboarding.
Additional Notes
- Standard precautions and personal protective equipment are required as needed.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision and use critical thinking and decisive judgment.
