Description

Stepdown Cardiac RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract RN role in Manchester, New Hampshire
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • No Thanksgiving RTO

Role focus

  • Assigned to the ED unit to care for inpatient/CICU level holds in the ED
  • Handles overflow patients including medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic cases
  • Expected to manage and titrate drips
  • Uses a team nursing / helping hands approach and may float to similar units
  • Patient sitting may be part of the assignment

Required qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Hampshire
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
  • 1 year of Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
  • Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ED - Emergency Department experience
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIHSS
  • Ability to manage and titrate intravenous drips including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine
  • Experience with Epic
  • EKG test on arrival
  • First-time travelers accepted only with EPIC experience and 2 years of experience
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
