Job Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience in Charge roles
- Orthopedic Surgery experience
Unit Details
- Unit type: Surgical Inpatient Unit
- Bed count: 24
- Patient population: Adults ages 18 to 100+
- Patient ratio: 1:6 max
- Call: None
- Weekend requirement: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
Clinical Expectations
- Post-operative patient care, including ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries
- NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheter / TURPs
- Respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal
- Rib fractures, altered mental status, pain management
Float Expectations
- May float to Medical / Nephrology / Inpatient Rehab
- May also float to Cardiology for lower-acuity patients or Med/Surg
- May float to Pediatrics to care for adult patients only
