Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
- Level 2 NICU experience required; Level 3 NICU experience preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination required, or declination form with appropriate documentation and hospital approval
Schedule Requirements
- Self-scheduling
- 3 weekend shifts per schedule month
- 1 major and 1 minor holiday if they fall within the assignment
Assignment Details
- Float to a sister hospital NICU
- 2 shifts of unit orientation
- Pass/fail simulation lab on Foley catheter insertion on day 1 of orientation
Unit Details
- Level II Special Care Nursery
- Cares for babies 32 weeks and above
- Typical patient ratios are 3:1, with 2:1 depending on acuity
- No monitor techs on the unit
- Charge nurse typically does not take an assignment, though may occasionally have one low-acuity patient
- NNP coverage is in house 24/7, with pediatrician coverage/on-call 24 hours
- Nurses start their own IVs
- Certified neonatal PICC team is available
