PCU RN Travel/Contract Job
Overview
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 16 weeks
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- Hours per week: 36
Unit Details
- Mixed-acuity surgical unit caring for PCU and Med Surg patients
- Patient population: adults and geriatrics
- Common diagnoses include surgical oncology, hepatobiliary cancers, colorectal cancer, and reconstructive/plastics cases
- Common procedures and treatments include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, insulin drips, and heparin drips
- Staffing goal is 1:4, with assignments sometimes reaching 1:5
- Weekends are variable based on unit needs
- Travelers may be required to float within scope of practice
- Rotating day/night scheduling may occur depending on department needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
