Description
L&D RN
Overview
- Contract RN position in Lamar, Colorado
- Full-time, 36 hours per week
- Night shift: 7:00pm–7:00am
- On-call required
- May rotate shifts and areas as staffing and census require
Role Summary
- Provides direct patient care for women in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Responsible for assessments, labor monitoring, preparation for C-sections and inductions, documentation, patient education, emotional support, transfer coordination, and IV medication administration
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (7 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS
- C-EFM
- STABLE
Experience
- 4 years of obstetrics care preferred
Skills and Clinical Focus
- Labor, delivery, postpartum, and mother/infant care
- Sterile technique and infection control
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment
- Long periods of standing and walking
- Heavy lifting
- Possible exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights and smells, and infectious diseases
