Unit Details
- 18-bed unit
- Typical step-down patient population
- Common diagnoses include post-MI with sheath pull, ADHS, post-op vascular, GI bleed, and DKA
Required Qualifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- RN license
- Must be able to titrate drips
Clinical Responsibilities
- Telemetry on all patients; RNs read strips
- Common titratable drips include nitroglycerine, Neo, and Cardene
Staffing and Support
- 1 PCT per shift
- Charge nurse and house supervisor available
- Charge nurse typically does not take a team
Schedule Requirements
- Every other weekend
- Holiday schedule is about every other holiday
- No call or standby
Floating
- Float PRN
Orientation
- Unit-based orientation
Dress Code
- Royal scrubs
- Undershirts may be white, royal blue, or black
