Medical Surgical Nurse

Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Unit Details
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- General Med Surg unit
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice
- Every other weekend
- One major holiday required if it falls during the assignment; two major holidays required if two fall during the assignment; two of three major holidays required if three fall during the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Additional Requirements
- Photo ID
- Background check must be complete before start
- Education verification required
- Skills checklist within 12 months
- 2 clinical references
- Verification of most recent employer
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start
- TB questionnaire required
- Drug screen within 60 days of start
- Flu vaccine or declination required
- Color blind testing
- Compliance must be complete before start
Work Setting Notes
- Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR are used in the unit
- Navy blue scrubs required
- RTO maximum: 7 days
- Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length
