36 guaranteed hours per week
3 x 12-hour shifts
Every other weekend
No call

Unit Details

NICU with 6 beds
Typical patient ratio: 3:1
May float as needed to nursery / newborn nursery

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
BLS
NRP
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience

Care for infants requiring CPAP or ventilation
Central line experience
Stabilization experience / attending deliveries
Developmental care

Procedures Performed

Assist with line placement
Assist with circumcision
Assist with intubation

Patient Care Focus

Family-centered care

Dress Code

Royal blue medical scrubs
Clean, natural nails only; no polish, artificial nails, gel, or next-gen nails
Hair must be neat and clean; shoulder-length or longer hair must be pulled back when working in the lab
Visible piercings other than ears are not allowed
No perfumes or lotions
