Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 16 weeks
• Shift: Day or night, 3x12 hours
• Hours per week: 36
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics

Unit Overview

• Oncology medical-surgical unit
• Floating is required to other MedSurg Oncology units
• Staffing ratio goal is 1:4, with assignments up to 1:5
• Weekends are variable based on unit needs
• No set or blocked scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Oncology experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ONS Chemo preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred

Clinical Focus

• Cares for solid tumor oncology patients across the cancer journey, including new diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care
• Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancer, plus antineoplastic chemotherapy encounters
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention and fall prevention
• Patients may have med-surg needs

• EPIC charting
• EKG competency exam is required for all RNs within 1 year of start and annually, unless exempt by unit-specific rules
• Unit-specific competency exam required
