Location

• Dickinson, North Dakota

Assignment Length

• 17 weeks

Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Self-scheduling
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage as needed

Unit Overview

• Medical-surgical/pediatric unit
• 17 beds total: 14 inpatient and 3 observation
• Cares for adults and pediatric patients
• Common patient types include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS certification
• PALS certification

Clinical Expectations

• No clinical involvement
• Does not require titrating drips
• Charge nurse is on each shift and takes an assignment
• Nurses apply telemetry to patients
• Pediatric patients are not managed by the hospitalist
• Respiratory therapy primarily manages BiPAP
• Floating may be required to the ED or ICU for 1:1 assignments

Staffing and Support

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:5 on nights
• Nurse aides are on the unit
• Pediatrician is on call for pediatric patients

Orientation

• 1 unit-specific 12-hour orientation shift, or one day and one night if needed

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Additional Notes

• RTO must be submitted upfront
• Additional RTO will not be approved after submission
• Candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius
• Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
• Facial hair may affect fit testing requirements
