RN - Med Surg
Job Overview
- Travel RN position in Marquette, Michigan
- 13-week contract
- Night shift: 7p–7a
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Rotating weekends
- Occasional float to a similar unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Preferred
- BSN preferred
- Experience on a medical/surgical unit preferred
Unit Details
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1
- Trauma level 2
- Telemetry monitors used
Work Expectations
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Critical thinking and decisive judgment required
Attendance Policy
- Second absence results in a formal warning
- Third absence may result in termination unless the unit leader agrees otherwise
- Missed hours must be made up to maintain contracted hours
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Galaxy Blue; navy is also acceptable
- Fingernails must be kept clean and not excessive in length
- Tattoos considered offensive must be covered
- Excessive jewelry is not allowed
