Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• 2 years of ER experience

Job Details

• No floating
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays rotated with permanent staff
• Self-scheduling allowed, subject to manager approval
• Block scheduling allowed
• Charge nurse on every shift; charge nurse takes a patient assignment
• ER nurses take holds
• Travelers may sometimes work triage depending on experience
• Nurses must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Nurses must be able to troubleshoot vents, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Must be proficient with IVs and drips
• TNCC is preferred

Facility Notes

• General ER with 18 beds, including 3 trauma bays
• Average volume is about 90 patients per day, with peaks up to 140
• No separate holding area; ER holds are intermixed in the ER
• No dedicated fast track area
• Not a STEMI or stroke receiving center
• In-house security on weekends, with 24/7 coverage being developed
• Radiology transports patients
• RT is available 24/7, with one on at night
• Pharmacy is in-house until 5 p.m.
• 3-shift orientation
