Job Summary

Provide respiratory care under physician and respiratory therapy leadership, including ventilator support, airway management, oxygen therapy, and related patient care procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Certificate in Respiratory Therapy
• 1 or more years of experience in respiratory therapy
• Ventilator management experience
• Airway management experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist

Key Responsibilities

• Administer oxygen therapy and manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and Opiflow devices
• Assist with intubation and provide airway, tracheostomy, and extubation care
• Perform CPR and other life support procedures
• Administer respiratory medications and monitor for side effects
• Perform arterial punctures and arterial line draws
• Conduct pulmonary function testing when trained
• Perform 12-lead EKGs
• Oversee technicians when needed
• Assemble, disassemble, and safely handle respiratory equipment
• Support patients across age groups and adjust care to age-specific needs
