Speech Therapist II
Location
Newport Beach, California
Contract
13 weeks
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Setting
Home health; patients are seen in their homes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
- Speech Language Pathologist (1.5 years of experience)
- Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
- BLS
- Experience working with Geriatric patients
- Experience in a Home Health setting
- Experience and knowledge base in orthopedics
- Experience and knowledge base in neurology
- Experience and knowledge base in cardiopulmonary conditions
- Experience and knowledge base in gastroenterology
- Experience and knowledge base in otolaryngology
- Home bedside swallow experience
Role Responsibilities
- Assess patients, establish treatment goals, and develop and implement speech pathology treatment plans
- Review medical history, perform screening tests, and determine clinical needs and functional limitations
- Collaborate with patients and families on plans of care and discharge recommendations
- Provide patient, family, and caregiver education
- Perform re-examinations and coordinate feedback with the multidisciplinary team
- Manage multiple patients and complete documentation accurately and on time
- Assist with orienting new staff, serve as a clinical instructor for interns, conduct literature reviews, and provide staff consultations and in-services
