ICU Registered Nurse Job Summary
Location
- Waterbury, Connecticut
Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend coverage
- 36 hours accepted
Contract Length
- 8 weeks
Setting and Patient Population
- Adult patients
- Community hospital experience required
- Float required to MS/Tele and Tele units, within scope of practice
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience in a hospital setting
- First-time travelers accepted
Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
- Central line care and management
- Starting IVs
- Care of ventilated patients
- Ventilator management
Additional Requirements
- Must be within 75 miles to be considered local
- Blue scrubs required
- Photo for badge required
- 2 professional references within 3 years of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
- COVID vaccination required, with facility-approved exemptions available
- Seasonal flu documentation or approved exemption required
- HealthStream modules must be completed before start
