Heart & Vascular Sonographer

Location

• Cincinnati, Ohio

Schedule

• 5 days per week, Monday–Friday
• 3:15 PM–9:45 PM
• 40 hours per week

Setting

• Primarily outpatient
• Echo only

Role Summary

• Performs non-invasive vascular and echocardiography ultrasound testing
• Supports patient care through accurate imaging, documentation, and communication
• Participates in quality control, process improvement, peer review, and continuing education
• May participate in research and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Echo Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of Echo Technologist experience
• Completion of an ultrasound training program
• Current certification in one of the following:

  • ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
  • CCI Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Ability to start their own IVs
• Ability to push UEA (Ultrasound Image Enhancers), such as Definity and bubble studies

Additional Responsibilities

• Start IVs
• Push ultrasound image enhancers such as Definity and bubble studies

Education and Ongoing Requirements

• Must maintain continuing education requirements set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL, and ICAE
• Must meet annual hospital and departmental safety, education, and in-service requirements
