Description
Heart & Vascular Sonographer
Location
- Cincinnati, Ohio
Schedule
- 5 days per week, Monday–Friday
- 3:15 PM–9:45 PM
- 40 hours per week
Setting
- Primarily outpatient
- Echo only
Role Summary
- Performs non-invasive vascular and echocardiography ultrasound testing
- Supports patient care through accurate imaging, documentation, and communication
- Participates in quality control, process improvement, peer review, and continuing education
- May participate in research and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Echo Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of Echo Technologist experience
- Completion of an ultrasound training program
- Current certification in one of the following:
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- CCI Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Ability to start their own IVs
- Ability to push UEA (Ultrasound Image Enhancers), such as Definity and bubble studies
Additional Responsibilities
- Start IVs
- Push ultrasound image enhancers such as Definity and bubble studies
Education and Ongoing Requirements
- Must maintain continuing education requirements set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL, and ICAE
- Must meet annual hospital and departmental safety, education, and in-service requirements
