Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, primarily day/evening
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 40 per week

Required Qualifications

• Active RN role
• 2–3 years of specialty experience
• Ortho experience
• Experience passing the arms in and out for robotics
• BLS and ACLS
• Epic familiarity

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS

Schedule Details

• Shift options include 8s, 10s, and 12s
• No self-scheduling for travelers
• Block scheduling may be allowed if it meets unit needs
• Weeknight call: one 7 p.m.–7 a.m. call shift per week, rotation varies
• Weekday call: one weekday call shift every 2 weeks, Monday–Thursday
• Weekend call: one 24-hour on-call shift per month
• Holiday call: as needed
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Clinical Setting

• Operating room with 9 ORs, 1 procedure room, and 1 hybrid room
• Average volume: 35–45 cases per day
• Common cases include general surgery, ENT, eyes, orthopedics, robotics, neuro spine, trauma, vascular, pediatrics, and emergent cases
• Does not cover CVOR or labor and delivery, except C-sections

Responsibilities

• Circulate cases if needed
• Float to outpatient surgery
• Scrubbing is a plus but not required

Additional Notes

• Must be comfortable working as the only RN overnight with 2 techs
• Must have experience with all specialties for evening/night shift
• Unit orientation: 3 shifts over 1 week
• Scrubs are provided
• Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the WVU system
• Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must be gone for 2 years
• Background hits must be disclosed at submission
• Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email
• Up to 2 candidates per opening may be submitted
