Certified Surgical Technologist
Location
Sitka, Alaska
Contract
13 weeks
Schedule
Day shift, Tuesday–Friday, 10 hours per day, with on-call/call-back
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and completion of a surgical technologist training program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Current BLS certification
- 1 year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub in on surgical procedures under professional nurse supervision
- Set up sterile tables with instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications/solutions for surgical procedures
- Anticipate surgeon preferences for materials and instruments and respond accordingly
- Take apart and reassemble instruments or equipment that need cleaning within scope of duties and prepare them for terminal sterilization
- Monitor supplies and instruments to maintain sterility
- Inventory, monitor, and order assigned service supplies as needed
- Provide backup call for emergency cases that may require two surgical technicians
- Participate in assigned committees
- Perform other assigned duties
Additional Information
- Housing and transportation are not provided for travelers
- Start date is not less than 6 weeks after fingerprints are received for processing
- Applicants must live at least 100 miles away from the facility address
