Shift

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• BLS certification
• Stroke and neuro experience

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS certification
• Experience with total joints
• Travel experience
• Strong neuro and ortho experience for night shift

Unit Details

• Med/surg neuro ortho unit
• 34 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios:

  • Days: 1:4–5
  • Nights: 1:5–6
• CNA support available
• Remote telemetry monitored by a separate tele tech
• No vents; CPAP used at night for maintenance

Scheduling and Assignment Notes

• No block scheduling
• Travelers are used to fill schedule gaps
• Weekend coverage may include every other weekend or more, depending on department needs
• Holidays may rotate with core staff
• Travelers float first within their skill set
• Possible floating to other med-surg units, ICU as resource, ER holds, or sitter coverage
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation in the first work week
• Unit-specific orientation: 2 twelve-hour shifts

Workplace Expectations

• Teamwork is emphasized
• Bedside report and hourly rounding are strongly emphasized

Dress Code

• Any color professional scrubs
• No tattoos above the shoulders visible
• Only allowed facial piercing is a nose stud
• Natural hair colors only

Licensing Note

• Non-Oregon licensed RNs may be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if their permanent license is not posted before the assignment start
