Unit Details
- 15-bed unit
- 4:1 patient ratio
- 1–2 LNA support
- Central monitor station
- Cardiovascular and vascular surgery specialty
Schedule
- 12 shifts per month
- 4 weekend shifts per month
- Floating occurs on a rotation basis, with travelers floating first
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Hampshire
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Strong telemetry skills
- Experience titrating vasoactive medications (levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)
- Chest tube management
Preferred Experience
- Arterial lines
- Flo-Tracs
- Temporary pacing
Clinical Environment
- GE monitors
- Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo
- Baxter IV pumps
- Hemospheres
- Meditech Expanse documentation system
Procedures on the Unit
- Temporary pacing
- Pre-op prep for cardiovascular surgery
- Chest-tube removal
- Arterial line removal
Additional Notes
- Bedside shift report is completed at each change of shift
- MyCare board is updated each shift during bedside shift report
- Scrubs may be any color
