PET/CT Technologist

Role Overview

  • Full-time contract role in New York City
  • Day shift: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • Contract length: 9 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved nuclear medicine technology program
  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New York
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (1 year of experience)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
  • NMT or ARRT (N)
  • ARRT (CT)
  • BLS
  • Ability to start peripheral IV access lines
  • Ability to perform injection procedures including manual unit doses and dose delivery systems
  • Ability to process all PET CT imaging including Axial Fusion processing and Myeloma Kidney Standard Cut and Coronal Cut
  • Ability to perform quality assurance on PET cameras for X-ray, PET and monthly constancy
  • Positron Emission Tomography Technologist experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform PET imaging and ordered examinations in accordance with protocols and standards
  • Review procedure requests, protocol sheets, patient medical information, and screening information before procedures
  • Ensure pre-procedural preparation is complete, including fasting, diet, hydration, glucose levels, voiding, and medication suspension
  • Explain procedures to patients and families, using an interpreter or translator when needed
  • Administer contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist guidance and approval
  • Perform equipment quality checks, troubleshoot issues, and place service calls as needed
  • Document radiopharmaceutical doses and provide patients with dose exposure cards
  • Transfer and archive studies to PACS and other clinical systems
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and confidential patient care environment
  • Perform required QA, wipes, and survey measurements in compliance with radiation safety policies
  • Stock supplies and complete administrative tasks as needed
