Description
Stepdown/MedSurg RN
Location
- Fairmont, West Virginia
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- Stepdown experience
- Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license
- Licensing hits must be disclosed at submission
Unit Details
- Stepdown/Med Surg unit
- 20 beds
- Ratios: Stepdown 1:3; floor 1:5–6
- Common patient types include respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
- RNs are required to titrate drips
- Common drips include heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
- Nurse aides are present, with 2 per shift
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow support
- Telemetry is monitored
- Charge coverage is by a house supervisor
Scheduling
- 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holidays rotate between evening or day shifts
- No call or standby
- No floating
Orientation
- Unit-specific orientation is provided
Dress Code
- Royal blue scrubs
