Description
Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location
- Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Start time may vary based on preferences and staffing
- No call
Assignment Details
- Includes both department and mobile work
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation
- Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
- Client may call off up to 36 hours every 13 weeks
- Local candidates are not accepted; 100-mile radius restriction
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nuclear medicine program
- Current certification by NMTCB and/or ARRT
- Active AHA BLS certification
- Knowledge of computers interfaced with gamma cameras
- Knowledge of radioactive materials, doses, and flood sources
- Experience with patient monitoring and other ancillary patient and radiation safety equipment
- Ability to work with radioactive material in a safe manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior clinical experience
- Ability to effectively handle patients and families in all age groups
- Good communication and personal skills
- Knowledge of nuclear medicine gamma cameras, stationary and portable, from varying manufacturers
Additional Notes
- PET experience is required
- No limited license is necessary for PET/CT attenuation correction; this is for attenuation only, not diagnostic
