Cath Lab Tech
Job Overview
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Location: Charleston, West Virginia
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
- On-call: Yes
- Weekend coverage: Call only
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Daily caseload: 8–10 cases per tech
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in West Virginia
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- One completed travel assignment
- ARRT registration required to start
- Does not consider RCIS as licensed to work in the Cath Lab
- Valid driver’s license or state ID required
- Social Security card required
- 1 reference required from a manager, supervisor, or charge nurse from a facility worked within 1 year of start
Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- ACT and AVOX certification
Work Conditions
- May float within scope as needed, though likely to remain in Cath Lab
- On-call response time: 30 minutes
- Weekend call rotates from Friday 7:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM
- 100-mile radius rule applies
Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start
- SAM, OIG, and sex offender search required within 30 days of start
- State license verification required within 30 days of start
- Drug screen required within 30 days of start
- Color blindness testing required before start
- Annual skills checklist required for the specialty
- Annual fit testing required
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Tdap vaccination required
- TB clearance required before start
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination requirements apply
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination is not mandatory
