Respiratory Therapist
Job Overview
- Travel position in Lake Charles, Louisiana
- Full-time
- Night shift
- Start date: ASAP
- 2 openings
Schedule
- 6:00 PM–6:00 AM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holidays
- No call
Work Location
- Floats between two facilities in Lake Charles and St. Patrick
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill patients across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
- Perform patient assessments and respiratory care plans
- Handle airway management, ventilator management, oxygen delivery, blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, and related respiratory therapy procedures
- May serve as shift leader or team leader
- May assist with advanced respiratory therapy functions such as pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, polysomnography, and transport duties
