CVICU RN
Job Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Location: New Bern, North Carolina
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- Open Heart experience
- ECMO experience
- Impella experience
- Balloon Pump experience
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous charge experience
Unit Details
- Receives patients directly from the OR
- Patients are sedated, intubated, and may have a Swan-Ganz catheter and multiple drips
Float / Scheduling Requirements
- Float to ED, ICU, and CVIMC
- Every other weekend required
Special Equipment / Clinical Skills
- Swan
- Temporary pacer
- Pericardial and pleural chest tubes
- Impella
- IABP
- CRRT
- Prismaflex
- Vent management
- Titration of drips
