Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (3 years of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Endoscopy experience
Education
- ASN required
- BSN preferred
Role Overview
- Prepares patients for procedures
- Completes assessments, reviews health history, starts IVs, and provides patient education
- Monitors and sedates patients during procedures
- Provides phase 1 and phase 2 recovery care
- Assists the CRNA during anesthesia cases
Core Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care using the nursing process
- Completes patient assessments and develops care plans
- Implements and updates nursing interventions and patient care procedures
- Documents nursing care accurately
- Reports or corrects safety hazards and incidents
- Supports peer development and professional collaboration
- Identifies and addresses own learning needs
