Contract Length
13 weeks
Schedule
- 4–10 hour shifts
- Variable days and start times, Monday–Friday
- Start times: 0630, 0900, or 1100
- No self-scheduling
- Same start time is kept consistent within the same week
Call
- 1 call shift total per 4-week schedule
- Weekday call runs from end of shift until 7:00 AM the next morning
- Weekend call is 24 hours, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
- Call response time: 30 minutes
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
- 2 years of OR experience
- Circulator experience
- Must be comfortable with GYN cases
- Experience with ENT cases
- DaVinci Xi experience
- First-time travelers are accepted
Preferred Experience
- Experience with multiple case types
- Experience at a hospital with 20 or more suites and 50–55 or more cases per day is considered a strong match if experience is under 2 years
Responsibilities
- Circulating duties
- Charge nurse support includes running the board and serving as a resource
Unit Details
- Operating room with 22 suites, expandable to 26
- Average daily volume: 50–65 cases
- Common cases include GYN, urology, vascular, plastics, orthopedics, neuro, cardiovascular, thoracic, general surgery, sports medicine, kidney transplants, ENT, and robot-assisted cases
EMR
- Cerner
- Facility is converting to Epic on May 2, 2026
Orientation
- 1–2 days with HR and OR leadership, including EHR training
- 1–2 days on the unit with a preceptor
- Orientation may be longer if there is no previous Cerner experience
Additional Details
- Scrubs are provided in teal
- Parking is paid by the traveler; the hospital does not reimburse parking
- Travelers should bring their own earphones for online training during the first week of orientation
- Over two absence occurrences in a 13-week contract is considered excessive and may result in early termination
