Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract RN role in Wilmington, North Carolina
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Telemetry (2 years of experience)
  • Telemetry experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience

Key Clinical Experience

  • Cardiac telemetry
  • PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Sheath removal
  • Post-MI care
  • Pre/post cardiac cath care
  • Management of cardiac drips
  • Chest tubes
  • External CPAP/BIPAP
  • Non-invasive airway management

Unit Notes

  • Ratios vary by acuity
  • Float assignment follows unit rotation; not first to float
  • Weekend requirement: 4 per 4 weeks, flexible
  • Unit orientation: 24 hours
  • Navy scrubs

Preferred Experience

  • Arterial line management
  • Wound care/wound vac
  • Charge experience
