Respiratory Therapist
Job Overview
- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Schedule: 3rd shift, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 14 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate degree in respiratory care
Required Experience
- 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of hospital-based respiratory care experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care
- NRP certification required within 6 months of hire for CHD-only locations
- AARC membership
- WSRC membership
Role Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications to the cardiopulmonary system
- Provide ventilatory support and manage life support systems
- Perform bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises
- Educate patients and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Maintain natural and artificial airways
