Travel RN - Med Surg

Location

Overland Park, Kansas

Assignment Details

Travel position
Start date: 12/14
Contract length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, with at least every 3rd weekend

Unit Overview

25-bed medical telemetry unit
Typical patient mix includes renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and general med-surg patients
Patient ratio: 4–5:1
Floating may be to like units, including Ortho, Neuro, CCU, CDU, SSU, Obs, and Rehab

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Basic Dysrhythmia

Unit Environment

Unit staff includes techs and unit secretaries
Focus on documentation compliance, central lines, foleys, C. diff, and other HAI-related processes
Team-oriented environment with support from charge nurses and a clinical educator
