Behavioral Health Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Manchester, New Hampshire
13-week assignment
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
36 hours per week accepted
Adult inpatient psychiatric unit with a 1:6 target ratio
No call required
Weekend requirement: every other weekend
Float requirement: may float to PEP and GPU

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid RN license in New Hampshire
1 year of psychiatric experience
Psychiatric experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute
Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

Charge nurse experience

Unit Details

16-bed locked psychiatric intensive care unit
Serves adults ages 18 to 64, with some geriatrics depending on milieu
Typical patient population includes suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, agitation, psychosis, chronic persistent mental illness, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders
Typical length of stay is 6–9 days
