Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location

  • Big Sky, Montana

Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • Contract role
  • 36 hours per week
  • Variable nights, days, and weekends
  • 3 x 12-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Montana
  • 1 year of Emergency Department experience
  • Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification
  • American Heart Association PALS or ENPC
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in a Critical Care setting
  • Competence in and willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Schedule / Work Expectations

  • Regular and sustained attendance required
  • May require work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek
  • May include weekends and after-hours shifts
  • On-call work may be required

Clinical / Role Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient and family needs and initiates appropriate interventions
  • Plans and implements patient and family education
  • Collaborates with the health care team
  • Provides stroke-related care and participates in annual stroke education
  • Completes required education on time per registry and policy requirements

Physical / Work Environment Demands

  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Repeated standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, and pushing/pulling
  • Continuous fine-finger movements, vision use, and cognitive demands
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals/medications, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must live at least 90 miles away from the facility
  • Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract in the event of low census or other unforeseen circumstances
